Royal jelly is usually called royal jelly in what flowering period. For example, the royal jelly collected during the flowering period of rape is called rape pulp, and the royal jelly collected during the flowering period of the locust is called locust pulp. 2. By color
The color of royal jelly produced by different honey powder sources during the flowering period is quite different. For example, rapeseed pulp is white, locust pulp is milky white, milk vetch pulp is light yellow, buckwheat pulp is reddish, and amorpha pulp is purple. The color of royal jelly can be used to distinguish which honey powder is produced during the flowering period.
3. According to production season
Generally, royal jelly produced before mid-May can be classified as spring jelly, and royal jelly produced after mid-May is classified as summer and autumn jelly. The creamy yellow spring jelly is the best quality royal jelly in the year, especially the best royal jelly produced for the first time, with high royal jelly acid content. Autumn pulp is slightly darker in color and has a slightly lower water content than spring pulp, but its quality is slightly lower than that of spring pulp.
4. By bee species
Royal jelly is divided into medium bee jelly, western bee jelly, and black bee jelly according to the different species of bee-producing bees. The former is produced by Chinese honeybees and the latter is produced by Western honeybees. Compared with western bee jelly, medium bee jelly is more viscous and light yellow in appearance, with slightly lower royal jelly acid content. The yield of medium bee jelly is much lower than that of western bee jelly. The vast majority of the products sold in the market are West Bee Jelly. Black bee jelly is mainly produced in Heilongjiang and Qinghai provinces. The yield of black bee jelly is lower than that of western bee jelly, but the nutrition is higher than that of western bee jelly, and the quality of royal jelly is high. The hotter the western royal jelly, the better, the fresher the black royal jelly, the better, similar to the sweetness of monosodium glutamate.
5. According to physical and chemical indicators
It is more scientific to determine the grade of royal jelly according to the classification of physical and chemical indicators. Royal jelly contains 10-hydroxy-△2-decanoic acid (10-HDA), which is unique in nature. The quality and quality of royal jelly exported from China are basically determined by this indicator. The price is high and is recognized by foreign customers. According to the Chinese national standard, the 10-HAD index of first-class royal jelly is greater than 1.4%, and when the 10-HDA index is greater than 2.0, it is the best royal jelly.
