The immune system and the major systems of the human body work closely together and restrict each other to ensure that the body is in a state of physiological balance in the complex and changeable internal and external environment to maintain physical health. The human body's immune system is divided into humoral immunity and cellular immunity. It mainly possesses three important immune functions.
First, it has immune defense function.
The immune system can effectively defend against pathogenic microorganisms and toxic products. Once this kind of dysfunction, there will be undesirable effects. For example, if the defense function is too strong, the body will form an allergic reaction; if the defense function is too low, the body's ability to resist pathogenic microorganisms will become weak as a result, and people will easily cause repeated infections.
Second, it has immune homeostasis function.
In other words, it can maintain its own stability. This function ensures the homogeneity of the cells in the body, and enables the cells or cell components that have been aged or destroyed in the body to be cleared out of the body. However, once the homeostasis function is out of balance, such as "too high", some of the self-tissue cells in the body may be treated as "foreigners" and removed, thereby generating an immune response, causing tissue damage, and even autoimmunity disease.
Third, it has the function of immune surveillance.
It can identify some of the mutant cells produced in the body and eliminate it. For example, cancer is that certain normal cells have become cancerous. If the immune surveillance function is low and cannot be identified, it is very likely that tumors will develop.
In general, normal immune function is the basis of health.
When the immune function is dysfunctional, it will reduce the body’s ability to fight infection, reduce its ability to recognize and remove its own aging tissue cells, and reduce the ability to kill and remove abnormal mutant cells from growing in the body, resulting in a decline in the body’s resistance to disease and self-healing, and it is easy to suffer. Disease; at the same time, it is also an important reason for premature decline.
