The source of beeswax is mainly the main component in the combs of honey bees. Generally, the beeswax composition of Chinese bees and Italian bees is different. Italian bees mainly collect gum. Beeswax contains gum components, while Chinese bees do not collect gum, so the Chinese bees do not collect gum. Beeswax is relatively pure, and generally refined beeswax does not contain impurities. In addition, beeswax contains many impurities, such as the cocoons of bee larvae and dead bee corpses, which need to be separated.

Beeswax is generally collected when collecting and collecting honey in our daily management.

First: Collect in daily management

In daily management, when we check the bee colony, as long as there are irregular honeycombs in the bee colony, we will usually cut them off. Also, when we find that there are old honeycombs in the bee colony, we will also eliminate them. The number of these nests is not large, and refining them will take a lot of time, so generally we do not extract a small amount of beeswax.

Second: Collect in large quantities

Large-scale collection usually occurs when we collect honey. At this time, we usually eliminate the damaged and old honeycombs in the bee colony. At this time, we often obtain a large number of honeycombs, and then we can collect the honeycombs that we usually accumulate. The beeswax is cooked together with the wax.

Ways to Boil Wax

There are many methods of boiling wax in actual breeding, and the bee tribe shared a method that is more convenient for operation.

First: preliminary processing

When boiling wax, we first knead the accumulated beeswax and the old spleen into a ball. For the spleen that is still on the frame, we can use a honey cutter to cut it off, and also knead it into a ball, so that our The preliminary processing of beeswax is completed.

Second: Prepare the big pot

After the initial processing of beeswax is completed, prepare a large pot with half a pot of water in it, and then heat it until the water boils. Be careful not to use too much water, because the beeswax becomes liquid after melting and can easily roll out.

Third: melt wax

Put the beeswax that we have kneaded into a ball into the pot, and then stir it with a wooden stick to speed up the melting of the beeswax. When we add the beeswax, add it in batches, because the melted beeswax will produce a lot of bubbles and will easily roll out of the pot, so Add the wax balls in batches, and add them after the previous batch is completely melted. If you feel that there is too little water, you can add water until the beeswax is completely melted.

Fourth: Extract beeswax

After our beeswax is completely melted, prepare a large basin filled with cold water, and then pour the beeswax into it to cool. After the beeswax cools, the beeswax will float on the surface of the water with water underneath, and it can be taken out as the finished wax. If we have high requirements, we can use a fine white cloth to filter the wax residue as we have done many times. If it is for personal use, this is enough.

It is worth noting that there are often a lot of black substances at the bottom of the filtered beeswax. These substances are impurities in the beeswax, contain more pollen, and are prone to mold and insects. Therefore, if we need to store the beeswax for a long time, after we collect the beeswax The black part of the beeswax should be cut off to keep the beeswax longer.
